Breaking free from the past

You are what you choose today not what you've chosen before.
 Only a ghost roams around in the past explaining himself the things done by him or what he could be 'if' he would have done that. This feeling is not inappropriate, it happens to best of us but that can be used in harmful ways.
"once you label me, you negate me".People will label you every time but its up to you that how you should react to it. Whether you'll just accept it "yes! I'm like that" or will you improve it "It's okay, i'll work on it". Otherwise it's very  easy to use the label as a justification for remaining the same or as an excuse for not working on your weaknesses.
You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it
You can bring to unknot the ropes that link you to your past and eliminate the fruitless sentences which are spoken to keep you just as you've always been.
Self nagging is a negative trait. It comes from our habit of picturing ourselves as failure and an unworthy person. It's like you're going through hell and you know that, but still you are and doing nothing to prevent it. If you've been picturing yourself as a failure you will surely find a way to fail, even if good chances comes in your way, if you'll think that your fate is not good or you are good for nothing, though you aren't but somehow your actions will prove that you are indeed a victim of cruel fate. There's nothing to despair, you can change your self image now only. It doesn't matter if you've grown older it has became your habit or its late because age is no bar to this self improvement. And this has to be accomplished, not because it will earn you a good fortune, though it may, but because it makes you feel good about yourself. But before you set about the task of changing yourself, it is essential for you to have have some idea of how to change yourself. Firstly, to get rid of labels like 'failure' and 'unlucky' you have to bring about a radical change in your self conception. To get rid of this negativeness and creeping sense of failure, start saying few good things about yourself - "I'm a unique person", "I'm a good listener", "I do good to people". A small beginning can be made and then start finding some good things about yourself, something in your work, your good traits and habits because if you'll keep on focusing about your failures you are never going to see that brighter side of yourself. And no doubt few efforts has to be done without applying efforts nothing can be achieved because
